For best results when using our insulated totes, we recommend that you observe the following tips; this information is included with each item sold. The tote should be kept in a cool place if using to keep items cold, or in a warm place if using to transport warm dishes. By storing the tote in a temperature that most closely matches the temperature of use, the need to raise or lower the temperature of the empty tote prior to use is not necessary. If you prefer to keep the tote in the trunk of your vehicle (as many customers do so that it will be available when needed) then you do not have to lower the temperature if using for groceries. The cold and/or frozen foods will lower the temperature. If using the tote for lunches or picnics, you will need to raise or lower the temperature of the tote prior to use. The fastest way to lower the temperature of the tote after having stored it in a warm place is to put th tote in the freezer for 10 minutes or you can put ice cubes in a zip lock bag and seal it and put the bag in the tote until it cools. Use the same method to raise the temperature of the tote by placing hot items in the bag (if initially cold) and sealing until tote warms. If tote is initially very warm and only a couple of cool items are carried, the effectiveness is greatlly reduced because there are not enough cool/cold items to lower the temperature and therefore expel the heat already in the bag.
Tote Cleaning
The totes are completely washable. Hand wash in cold water with mild soap and allow to air dry. This method preserves the colors used in the embroidery embellishments. Do not put in dryer as the heat from dryer will adversely affect the level of heat/cold reflectivity of the insulation.
